Dear Ladies and Gentlemen!

I have the great pleasure of welcoming you to the 14th European Clarinet Congress, which will take place in Katowice, Poland, from 27 to 30 October 2026.

International meetings of professional clarinetists and enthusiasts of the instrument, known as congresses, take place annually. They are hosted by institutions regarded as leaders in the field and offering excellent facilities and infrastructure.

Being entrusted with the organization of such a prestigious event to the clarinet association here in Katowice is a great honour and a source of pride. I am especially delighted to have this opportunity once again, following the successful 4th European Clarinet Congress, which took place in Katowice twelve years ago.

During this year’s congress, we will have the pleasure of admiring performances by more than 60 clarinetists from around the world. I am pleased that our invitation has been accepted by many world-renowned artists.

The fact that our main concerts will be held at the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice underscores the significance of this event. These evenings will offer a unique opportunity to hear performances by Martin Fröst and Sharon Kam.

The competition for clarinetists under the age of 22 will be an important element of the congress and a significant opportunity for young musicians. The congress will also feature masterclasses led by world-class teachers, as well as exhibitions of instruments and accessories. In addition, we are planning to attempt to break the record for the largest number of clarinetists playing simultaneously.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the organization of this event. In particular, I would like to thank the Rector of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music, Jarosław Mamczarski, who has kindly allowed us to hold the congress in the beautiful halls of our Alma Mater.

I hope that the 14th European Clarinet Congress will meet your expectations and provide you with artistic inspiration.
