Dance of Fire Quartet is a clarinet quartet that draws on the tradition of Klezmer, Balkan and improvised music. They are winners of awards at, among others, the International Jewish Music Festival in Amsterdam and the Folk Music Festival of Polish Radio „Nowa Tradycja”. Their concert was recorded and broadcast on TVP Kultura.
The band, known for its energetic performances, original arrangements and innovative approach to tradition, is constantly looking for new means of expression. From this search was born DoF – the electronic face of the band, which is a natural development of its previous activity. The sound of the clarinets is transformed with the help of digital effects and opens up to new forms of expression.
DoF is a fully electronic face of a band in which the clarinet goes far beyond its natural sound. Thanks to advanced sound processing, the instrument can take on a character that is completely non-obvious to a traditional instrument. Beats, samples and electronic textures create a dynamic space in which an acoustic instrument becomes a full-fledged tool of electronic music. DoF explores the possibilities of the clarinet in the world of contemporary sounds, combining instrumental expression with the energy and aesthetics of electronic music.
